God Sends Helpers

A Story of God Making a Way. Beppie Summersgill. Day 1: God sends helpers

If you haven't watched my Encounter video from last night, I encourage you to watch that because the devotions that I'm going to share this week come out of the video. Instead of singing like I normally do at Encounter on a Sunday night, I had a friend Beppie Summersgil come and share her testimony.

And hers is a fascinating story of how, even though she lost her sight, God worked in her life in so many ways. It's an inspiring story and I hope you'll watch the whole video.

Gratitude for Helpers

One of the things that really struck me as I listened to her speak was how grateful she was for the people that God had placed in her life. Listen to these words that she speaks:

β€œIt's so important to know that help is sent. God makes a way. Like He made a way for the Israelites through the Red Sea and so many other ways. God makes a way for us. He really does and He gives us angels. Whatever we want to call them, they are helpers along the way.”

And Beppie goes on to talk about all the different people who've helped her, and especially her husband Cedric, who has been a God-send.

Gratitude for Helpers

I think it's very profound that Beppe has seen the helpers in her life as angels, as gifts from God. And I think back to my own life. He's done the same for me! He's put people in my path just at the right moment, over and over again. He's put people in my life to help me in all sorts of different ways.

I'm sure the same can be said of you. If you look at your life, hasn't God been gracious in placing these people to help you all throughout? It's an amazing privilege to have people in your life friends. And I want to encourage us today to take a few moments to thank those whom God has placed in our lives as helpers. Maybe a phone call or a message to the people who've helped you in your life will go a long way in encouraging them today. Not only that, why don't we spend some time in prayer today thanking God for the people in our lives and praying His blessings over their lives?
