Glory Be to God the Father, Spirit and Son

The Lord is My Salvation Devotion

All that's left of the song is the bridge, which ends the song. And it sounds like this:

“Glory be to God the Father
Glory be to God the Son
Glory be to God the Spirit
The Lord is our salvation!”

Worship the Trinity

Once again, it's a statement of worship. Glory be, glory be to God for what he's done! Glory be to God because He's our salvation!

But I love singing this bridge because it talks about the Trinity. Glory be to God the Father. Glory be to God the Son. Glory be to God the Spirit. God is the Trinity. Three-in-one.

Believe in the Trinity

Lately my YouTube channel has suddenly gotten a lot of attention. And I'm getting comments from people all around the world, from different Christian traditions. And I've seen a few comments from people saying, “The Lord is one. Jehovah is God. Jesus is the Son of Jehovah and the Spirit is part of Jehovah. But the Trinity is a dangerous doctrine and you need to be careful of this.”

But I believe in the Trinity! I believe that throughout the whole Bible you see God the Father; and then equal to him, God the Son who then came to earth and became human to die in our place, but ascended to the right hand of the Father; and then the Spirit. All throughout the Bible, the Spirit is there.

I believe that these are three separate entities that make up one God, one God in three persons. And so for me, it's a joy to sing glory be to God, the Father who saved me. He was the one who created me, created the world holds it all in his hands. But glory be too to God the Son who came and died on the cross took my place. And so he's my salvation as much as God the Father. And glory be to God the Spirit! Because God the Spirit sustains my salvation. Filled with the Spirit, I am able to walk on in a state of grace.

Remembering the Trinity

Glory be to the one God, three-in-one, for the salvation that I have. Perhaps the Catholics among us have a point, when they always say “in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” when they pray! Perhaps Protestants like me can learn from that and remember more regularly that God who has saved me is three-in-one.

Sing this bridge today and give thanks to God in three persons for being your salvation. He's the Lord, He's the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit! He is wonderful, and He is our salvation!
