His Grace Will Renew These Days

The Lord is My Salvation devotion

Let's look at verse 3 and 4 of this song, The Lord is My Salvation. Again, you're going to see that phrase pop up at the end of each verse, proclaiming that it is God alone who saves.

“My hope is hidden in the Lord
He flow’rs each promise of His Word
When winter fades, I know spring will come
The Lord is my salvation.

In times of waiting, times of need.
When I know loss, when I am weak
I know His grace will renew these days
The Lord is my salvation.”

Spring is Coming

Beautiful words. My hope is hidden in the Lord. Not that it's a secret, but that it's deeply buried in God. He flowers each promise of His Word. And then she says, when winter fades, I know spring will come - and so this is a picture of new life!

I wonder if you’re in a winter season. I tell you what, we've had a cold winter in South Africa this year. We've had snow. We've had very cold snaps. But we know that spring is coming and that the flowers will come.

And that's a picture of our spiritual lives too. In times of winter, of cold, of spiritual struggle, we believe that His promises will flower in their right time because He is our salvation. Oh, I wonder if you need to hold on to that today.

Renewed Days

And then the next verse said, In times of waiting, times of need, when I know loss, when I am weak, I know his grace will renew these days, the Lord is my salvation. And so if you're in a time of need or waiting, weak or struggling with loss, believe today that God is your salvation. Believe today that His grace is at work and that these difficult times will be renewed into good times. That His grace is sufficient to get you through.

Hold on to Him! The Lord is your salvation today. Cry out to Him, place your faith in Him and trust that whatever you're going through, salvation has come and is being worked out by our God.

You can hope in Him, He will help you, He will make things new, He's doing a good work in your life. If you will trust, you will see it come to fruition.

May it be that we trust God deeply today because we know He is our salvation, and renewed days of spring are coming.
