"Exploring the journey of love: A hopeful individual embraces vulnerability, seeks connection, and experiences the beauty of shared moments, creating a tapestry of emotions and experiences that define the essence of finding love."

Over the past few weeks I have been reading Psalm 119, eight verses at a time. It’s a wonderful Psalm, reminding you verse after verse of what God’s Word can do in your life.

In verse 48 the Psalmist writes this: “I reach out for your commands, which I love, that I may meditate on your decrees.” I love this picture! Reaching out for God’s Word – is that a picture or our lives, I wonder? Do we “reach out” for God’s Word each day because we love it so deeply that we can hardly imagine a day without it?

Nourishing the Soul: Finding God's Love in Daily Scripture

I want to share with you some things that happen when we reach out for God’s Word day by day. We find them all in these verses of Psalm 119:41-48. To begin with, God’s Word brings us unfailing love. Verse 41 says “May your unfailing love come to me, LORD, your salvation, according to your promise”.

This is a wonderful thought – that we can reach out to God, by reading His Word, and find his unfailing love awaiting us each time. Have you ever thought of the Bible as a love letter from God to mankind? That’s what it is – it’s a story of God’s unfailing love for His people. It’s a story of grace being poured out again and again on a people who don’t deserve it at all.

The Psalmist here says that he looks to God’s Word to be reminded of the unfailing love God has for Him. I think we should follow in his footsteps, and open up the Word day after day to read once again of the love God has for us.

I’m reminded of the words of a beautiful song that goes:

How deep the Father’s Love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
And make a wretch His treasure

Daily Scripture: Reveling in God's Endless Love

God loved us so much that He sacrificed His only Son, to save the rest of humankind. You know, I’m sure, John 3:16? “God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son.”

The Psalmist knew that if he opened God’s Word, He would be reminded of the deep, great love that God has for his people. Let us too open this book with wonder every day, searching it for the love that God has for us. We will certainly leave each time of reading uplifted by the love we find within these pages.
