Victory Over Condemnation

More Than Conquerors (Easter Week) - Victory Over Condemnation

Through the risen Christ we find victory over hardships and troubles,  but maybe for you it’s not so much these types of things that are defeating you. Maybe your situation is ok, but you’re defeated by feelings and words of condemnation today.

Just a few days ago I was reading the David and Goliath story. David comes into the camp and all he hears are words of condemnation. The King says to him – you’re just a little nobody, what can you do? His brother says to him – what are you doing here, you’ve got no place here! The giant says to him – you’re just a little puppy, I am going to eat you alive! Words of condemnation all around.

Jesus went through the same thing. They spat on him, they jeered and made fun and mocked. Condemned by all, even his own disciples abandoned him.

Freedom from Condemnation

Perhaps you struggle with this. All around you hear words of condemnation. People doubting you and mocking you and breaking you down.

Perhaps you are your worst condemner. Maybe you really struggle with yourself – and you spend a lot of time wrestling with self-doubt and self-hatred and self-condemnation.

Friends, if you’re lying in a grave of condemnation and shame and pity today, come to the empty tomb! Come to the empty grave of Jesus and know this: in Christ – there is no condemnation!

Paul said it in our reading in Romans 8: “Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”

In HIM, your days of condemnation are over! Why? Because Jesus defeated the condemner when he burst forth from the tomb that day.

Victory Over Condemnation

All those whispers, all those jeers, all those mocking words came to nothing. Don’t let them get to you friends.

With your faith in Christ do you know what you are?

-       You’re forgiven.
-       You’re loved.
-       You’re cherished.
-       You’re set free.
-       You’re embraced!
-       You’re made new!

No more living in condemnation for the one who lives in victory of the empty tomb!

Will you come to the tomb today, and find your freedom from condemnation? God LOVES YOU. He wants you to come to Him and find victory. He doesn’t want to see his precious children slumped in self-defeat… beaten by words that have no place in your life.

Today there is victory. Today there is peace, if you’ll put your faith in Christ and believe in Him with all of your heart.

Christ conquered shame… Christ is in me… I will conquer shame and live in peace!!!
